Filament Yarn Finishing

Innovative threads and yarns

Synthetic filament yarns reach their required quality for end-use through finishing processes, such as drafting, texturing, and interlacing. It is an important aim, besides manifold special technical functions, to achieve a yarn structure similar to natural fibers, which exceeds natural fibers regarding visual appearance and handle. The combination of several yarn structures and process stages, moreover, enables the development of innovative effect and functional yarns as, for instance, the DSE-yarn atmofil®. Its extremely fine loops, due to the development and optimization of processes, chemical additives and machine components, show a similarity in its structure to micro pile fabrics. The pilot plant provides very good conditions for industrially-orientated yarn developments owing to flexible and modular pilot plants and production machines.

Offered services:

  • yarn and fabric research, improvement of yarn processability, development of new yarns (hybrid yarns)
  • process and machine optimization (drafting, friction-texturing, air-jet texturing and interlacing)
  • development of machine concepts and key components for new yarn production processes
  • development of highly efficient nozzles for filament spinning, drafting, texturing, elastane interlacing, and for DSE and BCF yarns
  • testing methods as well as development of measuring instruments for evaluation of filament yarn development
