Filament Yarn Technologies |
New filament yarns for various applications
The main focus of research in this area is on the development and production of filament yarns – mainly for their use in medicine, hygiene, automobiles, and environment. This business unit has decades of experience in the production of innovative filaments for medical use, especially in the processing of resorbable polymers, as polylactides, for instance. Bi-component technology was developed in connection with this - a technology which today provides facilities for the processing of fluor polymers and production-orientated 4-thread bi-component installations. These also enable the development of new and technical applications up to pilot production scale. In this field – together with its activities in nonwovens – micro-fine fibers clearly below 1 µm are currently being under development.
Offered services:
- technology development
- product development (medicine / hygiene products, implants, filters, automotive, fuel cell)
- testing of processing behavior of polymers and production of LOY, POY, FDY fibers (man-made fibers, high-performance polymers and fibers, biodegradable and medical polymers and fibers, FC fibers, bi-component fibers, multi-functional fibers)
