Nonwovens Technologies |
Development of innovative nonwovens and their applications
The development and production of nonwovens – especially for application in the areas of medicine, hygiene, automobile, and environment – is in the center of interest in this research area. This implies research on new materials and multi-functional nonwovens and dealing with technological and application-related problems in the nonwovens industry. Main stress is put on the processing of resorbable and non-resorbable polymer raw materials for medical products and on the development of nonwovens for filtration.
For the purpose of research, the nonwovens and clean-room pilot plant of the ITV Denkendorf is equipped with production-orientated facilities. The most important fiber and nonwovens production technologies are available and can be applied: card web, thermobond, spun nonwoven, melt-blow, filament yarn (bi-component), dry, electro, and centrifugal spinning for superfine nonwovens.
We offer:
- technology development (nonwovens technology, engineering)
- product development (medical/hygiene products, implants, filters, automobile, fuel cell)
- nonwovens testing (testing lab TT)
- testing of processing behavior of polymers and production of fibers (synthetic fibers, high-performance polymers/fibers, biodegradable and medical polymers and fibers, FC-fibers, bi-component fibers).
