Process and Production Automation |
Textile production of the future
Undertaking background research for process-related, adapted and/or phased and flexible automation is of central importance to this research division. Special emphasis is on cost and efficiency aspects for the textile industry, i.e. streamline first, then automate. Research involves the design and realization of complex automation concepts, the development and manufacture of electronic components for sensor, measuring, and drive technology, design and manufacture of experimental devices and setups. Numerous projects are done on themes concerning internal logistics, material flow / transport, and handling technology.
We offer:
- concepts: for phased process automation, handling, in technical logistics for manufacturing traditional textiles and technical textiles, fiber composite semi-finished products, smart textiles, etc.
- machinery concept design and constructive solutions to improve flexibility
- development of measurement technologies for the purpose of quality assurance
- application design for low-cost sensors and mechatronics
- application design for miniaturization and microsystems, e.g. for smart textiles
- control and handling basics for new textile manufacturing methods
- interdisciplinary cooperation between research (textile technology, mechanical engineering, electronics and software technology) and industry
