From research to finished product
Technical textiles belong to the most important research areas at the ITV owing to their marked innovation potential and significance for the market. The most important aim is product development for a wide range of applications in the Mobiltech, Buildtech, Protech, Indutech, Agrotech, Geotech, Packtech, and Sporttech market segments. Research and development projects cover a wide spectrum – from fibers, fabrics, functionalization and processing to innovative products.
Interdisciplinary collaboration between various ITV research groups, industry and university facilities that is required for product development is coordinated by the Kompetenzzentrum Technische Textilien (Center of Excellence for Technical Textiles). This collaboration concentrates findings and application knowledge from fiber to end product for practice-orientated product development. For the purpose of research, established processes, testing facilities, and state-of-the-art machinery covering all areas of textile technology are offered.
We offer:
- realization of the product – from concept to production and testing
- enhanced development of the functionalization of products and processes,
- development and improvement of basic textiles
- interdisciplinary implementation of synergies for textile-relevant trouble-shooting
- research of special function mechanisms as a basis for innovations
- development and preparation of special testing techniques (TT test lab)
- implementation of the infrastructure of the Center of Excellence Technical Textiles – up to pilot production
- realization of research findings on industrial scale.
