Development of innovative bobbins with focus on total service life

Research focuses on the R & D and production of all kinds of bobbins under special consideration of all requirements determined at the analysis of service life. Special emphasis is put here on improving the unwinding behavior of the bobbin. There also is a close connection with R & D activities in terms of new machine and drive concepts regarding the economic production of these bobbins.

For the purpose of R & D activities, the bobbin lab of the ITV Denkendorf provides state-of-the-art winding machines. In addition, special purpose machines enable freely programmable bobbin winding and specialized metrological technology in this research area are available. This measuring technology is suitable for the high-frequency recording of unwinding properties at different conditions. The ITV Denkendorf also provides a test stand as a further important tool in bobbin winding analysis. This test stand uses an optical system to provide an extremely exact measurement of the actual winding structure of the bobbin.
