Finite-Elemente-Methode (FEM) The Finite Elements Method (FEM) is implemented at the ITV to simulate textile manufacturing processes, to examine and illustrate phenomenological processes and to better understand complex textile material behavior. Finely detailed simulation models of threads and filaments for instance were developed for this. This should open up new ways for textile technology method and product development and virtual prototyping. FEM is available to the ITV to be applied in its various research units.
