Top-class research with structure

Research, development and services of the ITV Denkendorf are divided into six business units. Five business units conprise a large number of research topics ranging from raw material to finished product reflecting the rich diversity of R&D activities. Central Services, the other business unit, is required for the internal and external processing of textile task fields. The affiliated ITV Denkendorf 'Product Service Ltd.' fulfils a supplementary function providing a great range of services offered in the area of medical textiles and biomaterials and testing technology.

The ITV is part of the German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research (DITF), a foundation under public law, supervised by the 'Wirtschaftsministerium Baden-Württemberg'. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinrich Planck is the director of the ITV Denkendorf and also the spokesman of the board of the 'DITF'. Four members of the scientific board support the research activities of the ITV Denkendorf – activities substructured into the area of yarns and fabrics, technical textiles, smart textiles and life sciences. This scientific advisory board consists of representatives from industry and the sciences offerung advice on matters of specialist orientation.
